Margaret R. "Peg" (Lawler) Doherty, 91, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late John A. Doherty. Born in Cambridge, she was raised in Somerville and was a graduate of Tewksbury High School, Class of 1940. Mrs. Doherty was a resident of Stoughton for over 58 years. She was a Veteran of the US Navy as a member of the WAVES during WWII. Mrs. Doherty was active at the Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a devoted homemaker and mother to her 10 children. She was also a professed member of the Secular Franciscans in Hyde Park for many years and enjoyed volunteering at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. Her free time was spent in the company of her loving family.

She was the mother of John A. "Jack" Doherty, Jr., James A. Doherty, Mary M. Ball, Kathleen A., Michael J., Patrick J., Timothy W., Joseph P., Margaret R. and the late Teresa Doherty. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
