When William Christen Hatfield was born on April 15, 1809, his father, Henry, was 20 and his mother, Ann, was 20. He married Mary Ann Tharp on November 15, 1832, in Marion, Ohio. They had 11 children in 24 years. He died on November 15, 1859, in Bourbon, Indiana, at the age of 50.
