Ashland Woman Dies At Home Sunday Night

Ashland - Mrs. Frances Ann Devlin, wife of James Leo Devlin, Route 2, Ashland, died Sunday at 11:05 p.m. at the family residence after a lingering illness. She was 63 years old.
Mrs. Devlin was born Oct. 3, 1888, in Virginia, the daughter of Eliza and Susan Beach Plummer. On Nov. 26, 1914, she was married to James Devlin in Ashland. Her husband survives.
Other survivors are three grandchildren, four sisters and two brothers. Two daughters, one son and two sisters preceded her in death.
The surviving daughters are Mrs. Raymond Mahoney, Pleasant Plains; and Mary Ann Devlin, and Margaret Patricia Devlin, both of Ashland. The sons are Leo Francis and James Patrick Devlin, also of Ashland. The sisters are Mrs. Bruce Birmingham, Chicago; Mrs. Carl Ericson, Virginia; Mrs. B. A. Springer, Virginia; and Mrs. Carol Knight, Virginia. Brothers are Leo Plummer, Chicago, and Charles Plummer, Virginia.
The remains were taken to the Gainer Funeral home in Ashland and removed to the family residence Monday evening. Funeral services will take place at St. Augustine's Catholic church Wednesday at 9 a.m. with Rev. Vincent Heraty officiating. Interment will occur in St. Augustine's cemetery.
