Deceased Name: Pearson, Judith Kaye Wade
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." 2 Timothy 4:7-8. Judith Kaye Pearson passed away Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, after a lengthy 13-month bout with cancer. Throughout, she remained positive, kept her faith in God, and was an inspiration to those who encountered her. She was 63, born in St Joseph, Mo., to Vernon and Delores Wade on July 3, 1947. Judith was raised in Platte City, Mo., where she met and married her loving husband, John M. Pearson Sr. Soon after marriage, the young couple moved to Baton Rouge. Wake at Resthaven Funeral Home on Thursday, Feb. 10, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting at the funeral home on Friday from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Judith was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, John M. Pearson Sr.; mother, Delores Wade; brother, Donald Wade and his wife, Rena; son's and their spouses, John and Charity, Christopher and Brandi, David and Megan; and eight grandchildren, Sadie, Brenna, Charity, Brandon, Lana, Ava, John Robert, and Eliana Grace. Preceded in death by her father, Vernon Wade. She was the backbone of the Pearson family. She kept us all on track, our clothes washed, and was always ready to hug and kiss away our problems. Many a time did we find solace in our mother's arms. When her boys attended school, she volunteered at the library, which kept her close to them. She also enjoyed antiquing with the love of her life, spoiling grandchildren and gardening. Our Mother doted on our father and her boys. She always defended us even when we were wrong. There is now an emptiness in all of our hearts and lives that will never be filled. She is already missed. We love you mom, wife, daughter, grandmother, and sister ... and will always and forever.
