She was born in Rome, Ga., had lived in Atlanta, but lived most of her life in Hinesville. She was a licensed cosmetologist and had worked in the hospitality field as a reservations manager. She was a member of the Hinesville Canasta Club, Red Hat Society and Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of Hinesville First Baptist Church and its Pairs & Spares Sunday School Class.
Her husband, the Rev. Solomon "Buddy" Welch, preceded her in death.
Survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law, Myra Howard and Bobby of Atlanta, Kathy Dykes and Ricky of Ludowici, Joy Townsend and Wesley of Hixson, Tenn.; a son, Dickie Welch of Hinesville; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, at Hinesville First Baptist Church with the Revs. Steve Davis, Brenda Crawford and Brian Smith officiating.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until the funeral hour at the church.
Burial will follow in the Hinesville Cemetery.
Howard Funeral Home of Ludowici is in charge of the arrangements.
