Graveside funeral services for Tommy Ward, 63, of Ashburn will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn, Ga. Mr. Ward died Monday at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Ward was born in Turner County, Ga. and was the son of the late Eddie Carl & Lucille Walls Ward.
He was retired from the U.S. Navy, serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis and in Vietnam.
He was a former employee of the Turner County Sheriff's Department and was the owner & operator of Ward's Lawnmower & Stuff. He was a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church.
Mr. Ward is survived by his wife, Margaret Mitchell Ward; one son, Jeff; one daughter, Betty Land. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Kelsy, Kaylee and Kolby Land. Mr. Ward is also survived by his sisters, Claudine Conn, Shelby Jean Haynes, Barbara Burdett, Linda Shirah, Kathy Debbie Cook, and Cindy Smith.
The Family will receive friends, Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel.
