Jazz Musician. Raised in Washington DC, he took an interest in music at an early age and studied classical piano and clarinet. He received his Master's degree in from the Manhattan School of Music and following a period with the United States Army, he caught his break in the industry when he landed a spot with Chico Hamilton's ensemble following his move to California. During the 1950s, Horn was busy as a freelance musician and member of the NBC Staff Orchestra. His friendship with actor Tony Curtis led to his appearance in the film "The Sweet Smell of Success" (1957). Additionally, he recorded numerous albums during that period. Horn led his own trio and may perhaps be best remembered for the song "Abstractions" (1962). During the 1960s, Horn began a fascination with meditation. He recorded the acclaimed album "Inside" (1968) which is considered an early example of "New Age" music. During the 1970s, he relocated to Vancouver, British Columbia, where he taught meditation and was a music lecturer.
