York (NE) News Times, Nov. 18, 2002. Clarence A. Walbrecht, 83, of rural York, passed away at his home on Thurs. Nov. 14, 2002. Clarence was born on Aug. 19, 1919 in rural York to Henry and Anna Mathias Walbrecht. He attended school at York and was a graduate of York High School. Clarence served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, having been stationed in England assigned at Ground Crew for B-24 Bombers. He was united in marriage to Arlene B. Meyer on Aug. 8, 1948, at York. Clarence farmed for most of his life until his retirement in 1986. In past years he also worked for Miller Seed Company in York part-time. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, and was a longtime member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church at York. Clarence enjoyed reading, traveling, and attending antique tractor shows. (survivors omitted for privacy) Clarence was prededed in death by his parents, his wife Arlene on Jan. 11, 1986, and one sister in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tues. Nov. 19, 2002 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York with Pastor Arthur Brinkmeyer officiating. Interment will be in Council Cemetery west of York with Military Graveside Honors by Bolton American Legion Post #19 of York. Visitation will be begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Lewis Funeral Chapel in York. Memorials may be made in care of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Lewis Funeral Chapel of York is in charge of arrangements.
