My great-grandfather, George Washington TROUT, was born 25 Dec 1838 in Hocking County, OH to parents Johann Heinrich "Henry" TROUT and wife Abbagal MOORE TROUT. Henry died in about 1841, and in 1854, Abbagal and her second husband, Cornelius MAUK, moved with young George and family to Clark County, IL. George W. married Roxanna Permit MCDANIEL on 6 Jul 1872 in Casey and they owned a farm near Dupont Crossing, part way between Casey and Martinsville, until retiring and moving into Martinsville in about 1918. George Washington TROUT died 10 Aug 1922, and his wife Roxanna died 30 May 1930 and is buried beside him in the Martinsville City Cemetery.
