Mr. Whitfield was born in Lexington, Georgia, a son to the late Hines Berry Whitfield and the late Willie Mae Stephens Whitfield. Mr. Whitfield was retired as Maintenance Manager with Baker and Taylor, a member of the Galilee Christian Church and was a former Jefferson City Council member. Mr. Whitfield served his country in the United States Navy with 20 years of service, was past President of the VFW, a member of the American Legion and a former member of the Jefferson Rotary and Jefferson Lions Club.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Whitfield was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Lyle Whitfield, sister, Elizabeth Thomas, brothers, George Whitfield and Hines Berry Whitfield Sr.
