Lois Catherine Thompson died at the age of 101 years on March 16, 2011, at the Timbercrest Senior Living Center.

She was born January 9, 1910, in Igatpuri, India, to missionary parents Adam and Alice King Ebey.

Lois attended Woodstock School in Landour, India, and graduated from Manchester College and the University of Illinois, with a degree in library science. She was catalog librarian at Manchester College from 1930 to 1934. After marrying Robert R. Thompson in 1934, she moved to Elkhart, where she lived until moving to Timbercrest in 2000.

While in Elkhart, she was active in Elkhart City Church of the Brethren, serving as deacon and organizing the church library. She volunteered for several years with Meals on Wheels.

Surviving are children Larry (Joan) Thompson of Fort Wayne and Janice (Steven) Shull of Venice, Florida, eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

One daughter, Marjorie (Richard) Siler, is deceased.

Funeral service was held at the Timbercrest Senior Living Center in North Manchester on Saturday, March 19, 2011.
