Casey Melvin Taylor, 89, of 154 Odins Bow Drive, Madison Heights, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mabel Anderson Taylor. Born Aug. 29, 1910 in Halifax County, he was the son of the late I Jasper Johnson Taylor Sr. and Lula Stevens Taylor. Mr. Taylor was retired from Burrus Land and Lumber Co., a U.S. Army veteran of World War n and a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, Brookneal. He was a member of Oak Grove Methodist Church. Mr. Taylor is survived by two sons, Leon K. Taylor and his wife, Donna of Madison Heights and Ronald C. Taylor ofLynchburg; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two brothers, Kenneth Taylor of Lynchburg and Bobby Taylor of Doswell; one sister, Mrs. Nancy T. Jones of Red House and a devoted friend, Alice East of Nathalie.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Whitten Monelison Chapel by the Rev. Ray Archer. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. today at Whitten Monelison Chapel and other times at the residence. The family requests those wishing to make memorial contributions consider the Monelison Rescue Squad.
