Julie Ann Gray was born on August 8, 1972 in Manning, Iowa, to her proud parents Doug and Marilynn (Petersen) Gray. She was the baby of the family of five children. Growing up, Julie attended I-K-M Schools along with Exira and Elk Horn-Kimballton Schools. Afterwards, she buried her roots in the Kimballton area.

Julie worked at Arnold's in Kimballton for many, many years and also at Hansen Poultry outside of Kimballton. She was baptized at the Peace Lutheran Church in Harlan, Iowa.

Julie enjoyed having fun and making people laugh. She loved going to the casino and usually had good luck at the Haywire machine. A good card game around a table with friends and family was another thing that made her smile. Fishing and traveling were two other past times that Julie enjoyed doing. Whether it was a trip across four states or a trip to the grocery store for a gallon of milk, she would join in for the ride by car or by motorcycle.

Cooking was a passion of Julie's and you never left her house hungry. If you did, it was definitely your own fault. Julie's pride and joy were her niece, two nephews, and her dog, Molly.

On June 27, 2014, Julie joined her dad in heaven after fighting a long battle with illness. She had attained the age of forty-one years, ten months, and nineteen days. She was preceded in death by her father, half-brother Doug Jensen, and half-sister Donita Nielsen.

She is survived by her mother Marilyn Gray of Kimballton, Iowa; sister Carmen and her husband Justin Grove of Holstein, Iowa; half-brother Don Jensen and his wife Kim of Galva, Iowa; niece Katie and her husband Jeremy Petersen of Kimballton, Iowa; nephews Matt Arkfeld of Osakis, Minnesota and Collin Grove of Holstein, Iowa; other family members and many friends.
