Seized with Vertigo While Sitting on Porch of Motter House - Expired After Being Carried to Room
Seized with an attack of vertigo while sitting on the back porch of the Motter House last evening, at 6 o'clock, George W Mundorf Sr, and aged citizen, died shortly after being removed to his room. Dr. Z. C. Myers, who was summoned, hurried to the hotel, but life was extinct when he arrived. Dr. Myers stated that death was due to heart failure caused by acute indigestion.
The deceased who was in his 83rd year, has for a long time been subject to attacks of vertigo. Yesterday, although appearing in his usual health, he did not appear for supper, and a woman employee sent to summon him, discovered him on the rear balcony, suffering from an attack of vertigo. She called for aid and with the assistance of guests of the hotel she removed Mr. Mundorf to his room. He relapsed into unconsciousness and in a few minutes expired.
He is survived by a widow, Mrs. Henrietta Mundorf, five sons and a daughter; John S. Mundorf, George Mundorf Jr., Charles M. Mundorf of York; Harry K Mundorf, of Philadelphia; William C. Mundorf, of York; Albert Raymond Mundorf, Hanover, and Miss Tillie E Mundorf, York.
The body was removed to the residence of his son, George W Mundorf, Jr. 822 S George St.
