Mrs. Elmore was born in Lee County, a daughter of Robert F. Smith and Ada Josey Smith. She was a member of Wise Drive Baptist Church and United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was the widow of Roland G. Elmore.
Surviving are two sons, Carroll Elmore of Sumter and Roland G. Elmore Jr. of Spartanburg; a daughter, Jean E. Smith of Charleston; a brother, Conly F. Smith of Sumter; a sister, Caltha S. McCoy of Oswego; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
