DECATUR -- Robert Keith Boaz, 63, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014 in St. Mary's Hospital.

Keith was born June 8, 1951 in Paducah, Kentucky, the son of Robert Jack and Peggy Sue (Miller) Boaz. He graduated from St. Teresa in 1969 where he was an accomplished athlete and student. He was the former longtime owner/operator of the Winery. Keith was an avid music fan who took pleasure in sharing the joy of music. He was also a knowledgeable sports fan who attended forty-one St. Louis Cardinal home openers in a row and rarely missed a Kentucky Wildcat basketball game. He was well read, always tuned in, and could command a room, telling one story after another. Keith touched many people's lives for one simple reason, he cared. Being from a large, loving family himself, he made it seem easy to share his huge heart.

He was a wonderful father and recent grandfather. He married Debbie Revelle July 30, 1983. They shared over thirty years together.

Keith leaves behind his wife Debbie, daughter Laura Anne (Adam) Feriozzi of Decatur, grandson Maximo Boaz Feriozzi of Decatur, parents Bob and Peg of Decatur, siblings Karen (Dave) Barding of Decatur, Kevin (Sally) Boaz of St. Charles, Missouri, Keely (Cary) Peters of Decatur, and Kent (Denise) Boaz of Mt. Zion, sister-in-law Kathy Anderson and aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom he loved dearly.

Keith will be missed by all of us. The Winery lights are just a little more dim.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Keith's life will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the Winery, 1093 W. Main St. Decatur.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2400 S. Franklin St. Rd. Decatur, with Rev. Joe Molloy, Celebrant. Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Holy Family School or to a charity of the donor's choice.

The family of Keith Boaz is being served by Moran & Goebel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2801 N. Monroe Street, Decatur, IL. View the on line obituary, share memories, and send condolences to the family at www.moranandgoebel.com.
