John Lyles, Jr. was the son of the late Rose Elizabeth (Burleson) Lyles-Grissett and John Joseph Lyles, Sr. His first wife's name was June Munson and they had two daughters, Donna Jean (Lyles) Probst and the late Sally Ann (Lyles) Cox. His second wife was the late Lettitia Lyles and his third wife was the late Vhelma Lyles. Velma is buried at Ft. Logan Cemetery in Colorado. John served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. His nickname was "Jack".
