Charles Singleton, 44, of Hamburg died Tuesday, January 6, 2004, at Tucker. He was a native of Hamburg and a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Keisha Holt of California; four brothers, Willie "Bo Pete" Shaw and Y.T. "Butch" Singleton, both of Little Rock, Curtis Howard of Hamburg and John Howard of St. Paul, N.C.; and five sisters, Mary Dean Poole of Detroit, MI, Eva Barnett of Baton Rogue, LA, Sarah Ann Singleton of Little Rock, Leontyne Howard of Pomona, CA and Denise Hipp of New Orleans, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Y. T. Greene Sr. and Mildred Singleton; two sisters, Ruby Bennett and Mildred Singleton; one brother, Timothy Barnett; and his grandmother, Lena Singleton.

Funeral services were planned for Tuesday, January 12, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Hill officiating. Burial was planned for Johnson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg. Nephews were to be pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were to be Willie "Bo Pete" Shaw, Y. T. "Butch" Singleton, Curtis Howard and John Howard.
