Shawna Lyn Rush, 28, of Loveland, Colo., died Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, at McKee Medical Center in Loveland.
She was born on May 28, 1975, in Portales, to Roy and Johnanna Wilhoit Rush of Elida.
The family moved to Clovis where she attended Lockwood Elementary and Yucca Junior High. She was baptized at the 21st Street Church of Christ. In 1988 the family moved to Fort Lupton, Colo. where she graduated from Fort Lupton High School in 1993. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Longmont. She coached a girls’ little league basketball team in Fort Lupton, was a Boulder County 4-H leader and a mentor for Mountain States Children’s Home.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Roi Leigh McKee; her maternal grandfather, Lowel Wilhoit; paternal grandparents, Alpheus and Mary Rush; an uncle, Andy Wilhoit; and a maternal great-grandmother, Willie Musick.
Survivors include her parents of Longmont; two sisters, Tamara Manasco of Clovis and Nikki Basart (and husband, Mike) of Loveland; her maternal grandmother, Maxine Wilhoit of Portales; five nieces; three half-nephews; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. today at Howe Mortuary in Longmont.
Bob Lewis and Joe Truitt will officiate the services. Burial will be at Foothills Gardens of Memory in Longmont, Colo.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mountain States Children’s Home, P.O. Box 1097, Longmont, CO 80502.
