HEREFORD — Betty Jean Rudder, 75, of Hereford died Tuesday, July 1, 2014.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in East Mound Cemetery in Matador with David Williams, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Parkside Funeral Home of Hereford.

Betty Neighbors was born Feb. 12, 1939, in Matador to J.P. and Verdie Neighbors. She graduated from Matador High School and Texas Women's University, where she earned an education degree in English and speech. She moved to Midland in the late 1960s, where she met and married Reid Caskey. She taught school in Midland for 12 years and was very active with the Junior League and American Heart Association.

Betty married Milton Rudder of Hereford in 1979 and resided in Hereford until the time of her passing.

She was preceded in death by her husband Milton in 2013.

Survivors include a brother, Norman "Speedy" Neighbors of Sugar Land; a sister, Barbara Hofacket of Mertzon; daughter, Lisa Thornton of Aurora, Colo.; a son, David Rudder of Portland, Ore.; two daughters Katie Dahlquist of Shawnee, Kan. and Carol Knowles of Overland Park, Kan.; a nephew, Cody Myers of Amarillo; and her grandchildren, Anna Silliman, Andrew Thornton, Kaci Myers, Holt Myers, Samantha Rudder, Aaron Rudder, Hilary Dahlquist, Will Dahlquist, Cole Dahlquist, Lincoln Knowles and Fletcher Knowles.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Samaritan Hospice, 426 Main, Suite E, Hereford, TX 79045.
