Mr. Brennan was born Dec. 2, 1851 at White Hall, N. Y. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Brennan removed from there to Cuyahoga Co., O., and then to a farm in Spring township when he was a small boy and he had lived in this vicinity practically all of his life. Mr. Brennan was engaged in work for some time in the oil fields around Bradford but for many years past had conducted a very successful nursery business in Chicago although he had always kept his residence in Conneautville and spent quite a bit of time here.
He was married to Rosetta Stewart of Conneautville in 1878 and she survives him. Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Mrs. C. C. Fish of Erie and two sons, Sheridan Brennan of Chicago and Stewart who has been located in Conneautville for the past several months. Of his father's family there remains, one sister, Miss Mary Brennan of Conneautville, and six brothers,; Dr. Charles H., of Sharon; John, of Cleveland; Thomas, of Meadville; Bart, of Spring township; and William and Joseph in the west.
The body was brought to his home here from Chicago Monday morning accompanied by his two sons and their wives.
Funeral Services which included the celebration of Requiem High Mass, were held at St. Peter's Roman Catholic church Tuesday morning, Rev. J. F. Butler, officiating. Interment was made in the Catholic cemetery. Messrs. Frank Clancy, Mart Cleary, S. L. Flanigan and George Fish acted as bearers.
Among the relatives in attendance from out of town were, Mr. and Mrs. Sheridan Brennan, and Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Brennan from Chicago; Dr. and Mrs. C. C. Fish, Erie; Dr. and Mrs. Charles Brennan, of Sharon; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Brennan, of Meadville, and John Brennan, of Cleveland.
