Bonnie Mae (Jonassen) McCoy, 53, of Walkerville, passed away peacefully at home on July 1, 2014, surrounded by family and loved ones after a brief battle with cancer. Bonnie was born October 15, 1960, in Hart, the daughter of Joseph R. and Geraldine Jonassen.
On July 16, 1988, she married David McCoy, and together they had three beautiful daughters, Debbie, Grace and Elena. Some of the things she enjoyed most were reading, gardening, camping, hunting or just being in the Lord's creation. She enjoyed learning new things and was always sharing her knowledge and interesting trivia with family and friends. Being a mother and keeper of the home was a treasured occupation she enjoyed thoroughly. She was known for her servant's heart and whether it was through labor or by lending a listening ear, she was always reaching out to others. Above all, living and serving her Lord and Savior was the most important part of Bonnie's life. She was always seeking a deeper and more meaningful relationship with her maker. She is survived by her husband; daughters; and siblings; Susan Bettys, Phillip, Irene, David, Martin (Alice), John (Gina), Andrew (Konnie) Jonassen and many nephews; and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents; niece Debbie Jonassen; brother-in-law, George "Ben" Bettys; and sisters-in-law, Patricia Pettit and Barbara McCoy. The visitation will be at the McCoy family home, 6659 East Clock Road Walkerville, MI 49459 on July 2 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on July 3, from 10 a.m. to noon, with the funeral service and burial at Abson Cemetery (2 miles east of Walkerville, Michigan, on East Harrison Rd) on July 3 at 2 p.m
