Rachel was born in Nebraska to Albert B and Mable Everingham. In 1930, the family was living on a farm in Selden Township, Rock County, Nebraska. Rachel's older two sisters were still at home, and both were teachers in public schools. Unlike some families of the time, Rachel's family owned a radio.

Rachel loved people and was always ready to share their joys and sorrows. She had a deep faith in her Lord and served Him wherever she could.
She married Laurence Greenfield, and they were blessed with two daughters.
Rachel Greenfield departed this life on June 30, 2014, at the age of 98 years.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Laurence, two sisters, three brothers, and one great-grandson.
Left with memories are her daughters and a son-in-law; one sister; eight grandchildren; three great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Thursday, July 3rd, at the West Center Chapel, 7805 West Center Road, Omaha, Nebraska. Services Saturday, July 5th at 11 am at Westwood Church, 13056 Atwood Avenue, Omaha. Private Interment in Stuart, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to Westwood Church or Open Door Mission.
