Regina "Jean" Ross, 82, of St. Charles, Illinois, formerly of West Chicago and Batavia, Illinois, died Friday, August 25, 2000 at Rosewood Care Center in St. Charles. She was born May 25, 1918 in Geneva, Illinois, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Rose nee Hansen Konsbruck.
    Jean was a past president of the Altar and Rosary Society of Holy Cross Church in Batavia. Her hobbies included making woven rugs, crocheting, knitting and playing the piano by ear.
    She is survived by a daughter, Karen Ann (Charles) Lagergren of St. Louis, Missouri and their children, Ellen, Michael and Jennifer; one son, James Edward Ross of Maple Park, Illinois and his children, Eli and Lucas; one brother, Nicholas E. (Marjorie) Konsbruck of Batavia; three great grandchildren, Even, Brett and Celeste and two step-children, Laryssa and Jason.
    Preceding Regina in death were her husband, Edward Joseph Ross; and two sisters, Susan Peterson and Helen Rose.
    Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2000 from St. Mary Catholic Church in Maple Park, 123 S. County Line Rd., Maple Park, where she will lie in state from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until funeral hour. Fr. William Clausen will officiate. Burial will be private.
    Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Yurs Wittenberg Funeral Home, 1771 W. State Street, (Rte. #38), Geneva, where a liturgical wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
