Nolan Dean Button, age 62, passed away at Valley View Medical Center in Cedar City, Utah surrounded by his family on June 29, 2014. He was born October 6, 1951 in Kanab, Utah to Kelvert Daniel and Edna Coleman Button, the fourth of five children. He will be greatly missed by his family , friends and loved ones.
Nolan graduated from Kanab High School. He married and was sealed to Arvon Shakespear on August 6, 1971 in the St George Temple. They had 4 kids, known to Nolan as #1 , #2 , #3 , and #4 . Nolan enjoyed riding through the red hills. He enjoyed hunting, trapping, and gathering wood. He enjoyed family get-together as long as he could leave when he had had enough of the company. He loved his grandkids and spoiled them like only a grandfather could. He was convinced he had the best grandkids in the world.
Nolan was a skilled equipment operator and loved working outdoors. He spent the early part of his career working for Garkane Power as a Journeyman Lineman. After leaving Garkane, he started his own heavy equipment operation business where you could often time find his kids working alongside of him.
Nolan was preceded in death by his sister Una Kay Hamilton, and his parents Kelvert Daniel and Edna Button. He is survived by his wife Arvon Button; his children Tanya (Richard) Healey, Tosha (Dallas) Hoyt, Marsha Edna Button and Nolan Cody Button; his siblings Marvin (Deon) Button, Geniel (Marlow) Kent, and Susan Markham; 12 grandkids and 1 great-grandkid.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Kanab Utah South LDS Church. Viewings will be held at the church on Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM and Thursday morning from 10:00-10:45 am. Burial will be in the Kanab Cemetery under the direction of Mosdell Mortuary.
