Kenneth A. Beach age 70 of Sturgis, Michigan passed away Monday morning June 9, 2014 at his home.
He was born November 23, 1943 in Sturgis, Michigan son of the late Wilford and Wanetta (Clinesmith) Beach.
Ken resided most of his life in Sturgis and was a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1962.
On October 9, 1965 he married Pamela Jo Myers in Sturgis. She died October 12, 1982. On August 15, 1987 he married Kathy Schmick, in Sturgis.
Ken had been employed by Sutton Tool Company in Sturgis for several years and he was a self-employed building contractor.
He was proud to have served his country in the National Guard. He also served on the Sherman Township Zoning Board and the Zoning Board of Appeals. Ken enjoyed ancestry research, tractors, computers, Legos, woodworking and most all sports. He was a loyal and faithful fan of the University of Michigan and had a true love for animals.
He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife: Kathy; two daughters: Kimella (Bill) Goodman of Sturgis and Erin (Tim) Garbine of Sturgis; two sons: William (Krista) Beach of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania and Nevin (Stephanie) McElwrath of Elkhart, Indiana; 10 grandchildren: Shantell, William, Kayla, Brody, Emma, Hannah, Logan, Neilan, Kyler and Liam; one brother: Larry (Pat) Beach of Sturgis and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife: Pamela Jo Beach; one son: Joseph A. Beach; one brother: Richard Beach and one sister: Sharon Denison.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place.
A private graveside service and burial of the ashes will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
