Paul Davies Pitman, age 59, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at his home.

He was born in Atlanta, GA on December 22, 1954. He graduated from Jacksonville State University, where he was a member of the A Cappella Choir and Marching Band. He went on to serve as the Band Director at Lumberton Senior High and was also a member of the Second Time Around Band. An active member of Trinity Episcopal Church, he was a choir member and a past Senior Warden and Vestry member.

Paul formerly worked for the Lumberton Rescue & EMS and Robeson County Ambulance Service. Additionally, he was a nurse at Southeastern Regional Medical Center of Lumberton for over 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Randolph Pitman, Sr., his mother, Jean Brown Pitman, and his stepmother, Jane Ray Pitman (Memorial #102638111).

Paul is survived by his wife, Jane Andrea Pitman, of the home, two sons, Billy Pitman, of Harrisburg, PA, and Brian Pitman, of Wilmington, NC, and their mother, Freda Pitman. Also, a stepson, Antonio Mantovani, of Falls Church, VA, a stepdaughter, Andrea Mantovani, of Wilmington, NC, his father-in-law, Donald Johnson, of Cary, NC, two brothers, Fred Pitman, Jr., of Oakton, VA, and Robert Pitman, of Decatur, GA, and three stepsisters, Janet Edwards, of Chapel Hill, NC, Diana Tope, of LaFayette, GA, and Nancy Ray, of Englewood, FL.

The memorial services will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Lumberton, North Carolina. The placement of the cremains in columbarium of Trinity Episcopal Church Cemetery in Lumberton, North Carolina will follow. The family is under the care of Floyd Mortuary and Crematory in Lumberton, North Carolina.
