Charlotte Cannon.
August 28, 1924 - January 15, 2006.

Charlotte Cannon of Monterey passed away peacefully on January 15, 2006.

A native of Brooklyn, NY, she dedicated herself to improving life in Monterey.

Professionally, she worked for Mangold Property Management as the manager of Thorndike Apartments for 13 years, and as a former surgical nurse at the old Monterey Hospital.

Recognized for her hats and disarming wit, Charlotte lived life to its fullest.

A dedicated volunteer, she trained in emergency preparedness for the City of Monterey, served as president of Oak Grove Neighborhood Association, helped at the Fairgrounds Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners, served dinners at San Carlos Catholic Church (though not Italian, she was a proud member of the Italian-American Club there), and was an election pollster.

Many knew her from bingo and as a participant at the Hartnell Rehabilitation Center. At the time of her death, Charlotte was taking computer classes.

She is survived by a loving family that extends to great grandchildren.

Friends and neighbors will gather for breakfast at Ann Kelly's at the Lake, Saturday, February 4, at 9 a.m.
