Mildred Thibodeaux Matherne, 86, a native and resident of Houma, died at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, July 8, 2001.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. today at Falgout Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Bayou Blue Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in Matherne Cemetery in Bayou Blue.

She is survived by two sons, Jerry and Keith Michael Matherne; one brother, Dennis J. Thibodeaux; two sisters, Gladney "Tootsie" Barrios and Anita Barrios; and one grandchild, Brett Matherne.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elzie Joseph Matherne; her parents, Anatole and Rita Mae Vincent Thibodeaux; one son, Gerald Joseph Matherne; one daughter, Brenda Joyce Matherne; two brothers, Larry and O.J. Matherne; and two sisters, Beulah Thibodeaux and Aida Dore.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation.

Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
