The pall bearers were Lorin Ivan and Henry Henderson, Fred Flemming, Ardell Ford and Hade Church. Little nieces of the deceased acted as flower girls.
Words of consolation were spoken to the bereaved wife, father and other relatives, and many of the deceased's manly traits of character were told.
Joseph Henderson, was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Holly Henderson of Kanab who embraced the principle of the L.D.S. Church at Blockton Alabama. Later with his family moved to Kanab when Joseph was a small boy.
Joseph grew up in Kanab and was a member of the church to the last. He received his education in the public schools here.
Of late years he has worked as a fire gaurd on the Forest Service and was faithful in his work. He married Eva Emmett, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Emmett of Leeds, Washington County, and a grand daughter of James Emmett, an early southern Utah Pioneer.
Ten years ago the deceased underwent an operation for spleen trouble and has never been entirely well since. A few weeks ago he became decidedly worse and as a last resort submitted to a blood transfusion. He was too weak to undergo the ordeal and a few days later died.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Eva Emmett Henderson, he is survived by his aged father Holly Henderson and several brothers and sisters, among who are: Henry and Lorin Henderson, Mrs. Maude H.
