Billy Joe Page, 86, of Paducah passed away at 12:00pm Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Superior Care Home. His valiant six year battle with health issues ended peacefully in the presence of his loved ones.

Mr. Page was a committed Christian father and husband. As an active member of Margaret Hank Memorial Cumberland Presbyterian Church, he served as deacon, elder, Sunday school teacher, youth leader and sang in the choir. After a move to Lone Oak, he attended Lone Oak First Baptist Church.

Billy Joe was born May 7, 1928 in Paducah to the late Omar J. Page and Ethel Lynn Page. He graduated from Augusta Tilghman High School in 1946 and attended Paducah Junior College, contributing to a lifelong love of learning. All of these activities produced many awards, including Duke of Paducah, Kentucky Colonel, American Red Cross and Boy Scouts of America. Many odd jobs in his youth helped prepare him for a long and productive thirty-two year career at the U.S. Postal Service. After retirement, he was an owner/broker of Page One Realty, followed by ten years as McCracken County Inspector.

Billy Joe's civic activities included a sixty year membership with Masonic Lodge #27, Lone Oak Lions Club, Boy Scout Leader, Scottish Rite, National Association of Postmasters, National Association of Realtors, and Gideon's International.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Carolyn Manley Page. Their devoted marriage produced four children and their spouses; two daughters, Cindy McElya of Boise, Id, and Penny Gates of Paducah, KY.; and two sons, Martin Page of Orlando, Fl., and Gregg Page of Tampa, Fl.; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Omar J. Page and Ethel Lynn Page; one brother, Jimmie Page; one sister, Wanda Shelton; and one infant son, Michael Page.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. His grandson, the Reverend Randy Forrester of Charlotte, NC will officiate. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Friday, June 27, 2014 at the funeral home.

An expression of sympathy may be made to the American Heart Association Kentucky Region 240 Whittington Parkway Louisville KY 40222.
