Anne was a loving wife, affectionate mother, dedicated friend and trusted advisor. She had a distinguished career of 34 years with MetLife, where she assisted countless families to realize their financial potential. She was also past President of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Fredericksburg Chapter.
In her spare time, Anne loved gardening, paddle boarding, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a dedicated professional and her candid council and fortitude will be sorely missed.
Anne is survived by her husband, Carl F. Graves; three daughters, Elizabeth "Betsy" Pate and husband, Robert J. Pate III; Kelly K. O'Reilly and fiancé, Vincent P. Greenman; and Erin O. Lewis and husband, Shane M. Lewis; six grandchildren, R. Jesse Pate IV, Reilly Anne Pate, Chloe K. O'Reilly, Whitney C. Doyle, Riley M. Lewis, and Josie M. Lewis.
Survivors also include her mother, Kathleen H. Weckler; two sisters, Kathleen "Kit" Matt and husband, Jeffery; and Margaret "Peggy" Sullivan and husband, Daniel; one brother, Frederick L. Weckler; one sister-in-law, Deborah Weckler Spano; and 17 nieces and nephews.
Anne was preceded in death by her father, James L. Weckler, and one brother, James L. Weckler.
A visitation will be held from 2:00-3:30 P.M. and again from 6:00-8:00 P.M., both on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Home, Locust Grove, Virginia. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church Cemetery in Spotsylvania. Reverend James Eure will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center, 1240 Lee St., Charlottesville, VA 22903.
