Mrs. Gertrude Mathiasmeier, 74 died at the home of her son, Louis Mathiasmeier, 220 Eighteenth street at 9 o'clock Sunday night. Mrs. Mathiasmeier had been ill over a period of three months.
Born in St. Paul, Iowa August 18, 1861, Mrs. Mathiasmeier came to Fort Madison 50 years ago. She was married to Chris Mathiasmeier in December, 1880, at St. James Catholic church in St. Paul. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church in Fort Madison. Mr. Mathiasmeier died seven years ago.
Surviving are three sons, Louis and John of Fort Madison and Bert Mathiasmeier, Arkansas City, Kansas, two daughters, Mrs. Earl LaLone and Mrs. Lon Peckham, Fort Madison, one brother, Joe Weisbruch, Fort Madison, three sisters, Mrs. Tom Doyle, Milwaukee, Mrs. Mary Nauer, Peoria, Ill., and Mrs. John Stolwyk, Fort Madison; 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Mary's Catholic church. Rev. M.J.Kaufmann officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart cemetery.
The body will remain in the Weisbruch Funeral home until time for the services. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:30 o'clock Tuesday evening.
