Albert Howard Porter, was born to Benjamin Franklin and Florence (Tibbett) Porter,
Feb. 18, 1916 Deep Fork, Lincoln County, in Central Oklahoma. They moved to Parkland, Okla. when he was young and his father share cropped the old Ford place North of Parkland. He attended school in the old Parkland schoolhouse, and a couple of other schools farther north towards Cushing. He grew up and was baptized into the Church of The Firstborn by, Bro. Henry Davis.
He went to the CCC camps in the 30's and worked on the trails in the black hills east of Delta, Colorado. In 1938 he married Ellen M. Tanner who lived at Osage, Okla. with her uncle and her older sister Maxine. Maxine was married to his uncle John Porter, a half brother to his father Ben. They married in Cushing, Okla. and immediately settled in the Parkland area and lived with his Father and Mother, Ben & Florence Porter and share cropped with them. After their first child was born, Bobby G. Porter, they moved a couple of miles south, just north of the Parkland Cemetery on the east side of the road, where Billie Eugene was born, their second son. They later on, moved to the Perkins, Okla. area, east and north of town, just a mile west and a quarter south of the Eden Chapel church and cemetery, where Bennie Ray, their third son was born in Oct. of 1943. Very soon afterwards, they moved a half mile south of the Eden Chapel church, on what was then called the Ostrainer Place, and farmed it for the owners until the summer of 1945 when they sold out the farm and moved to Lindsey, Calif. where Bobby went to his first year of school. Albert had taken a job on an Olive Orchard where they lived in a little worker house, very small and with very little accommodations, such as modern conveniences we enjoy today. Billie started his first year of school at the Sunny Side School, being only 5 years old, as his mother told them he was 6, so that Bobby did not have to go by himself. They lived in this area for 24 months, then moved back to Perkins where they still had the money they had sold the farm for, in the Payne County Bank, and bought a home with it so as not to have any house payments. They lived in this little home for 4 years, and then began going to the McKinleyville, Calif. area to work in the Lumber Mills during the summertime. Finally after several moves back and forth, they sold out and moved to McKinleyville for the last time in 1954 where they remained until his death. There was a little group of people, referred to as (brethren) associated with the Church of The Firstborn, the same church his father and grandfather were associated with in Okla. and finally, he was ordained as a Bishop in the church in 1956, in McKinleyville, along with his brother Ace Porter, and remained there until his death, Jan. 28, 1988.

He and his wife Ellen, were blessed with three sons, Bobby Gene, Billie Eugene, and Bennie Ray Porter.

In this year of 2014, they are all still living. Bobby lives with his wife Jerlene in Fortuna, Calif.. Bill, lives with his wife Carlene, at Cortez, Colo. and Ben and his wife Bessie, live in Sapulpa, Okla.
