Born November 24, 1928 at Brooks he was the son of the late Roscoe and Estella Bragg Ward. Mr. Ward was of the Baptist Faith and a retired employee of the C&O Railway.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
Preceded in death by two sons, Connie and Gary Ward; one granddaughter, Beth Berry; five brothers and two sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 65 years, Mary Ward of Hinton; eight children, Barbara Sears (Jack), Betty Woodrum (Jerry), Margie Gross (Ronnie), Debra Toler (Mike), Peggy Meadows (Michael), Carol White (Kevin), David Ward (Sharon) and James Ward (Peggy) all of Hinton; one brother, Marvin Ward, thirteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, June 26, 2014 at the Fox Cemetery at Brooks with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating.
Friends are asked to gather at the cemetery at 10:30 am.
Sons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
