Mr. Joe Dan Clay, age 85 of Winnsboro, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2014 in Winnsboro. Joe Dan was born on March 22, 1929 in Wood County, to the late Grady Lee and Marie Alvis Clay. He owned and operated a local service station for forty years, along with being a cattleman. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 62 years, Mrs. Patsy Jane Clay; granddaughter, Jennifer Powell; grandson, Justin Clay; and son-in-law, Terry Weems. He is survived by son, Tommy Clay and wife Teresa of Paris; daughters, Linda McElwrath of Winnsboro, Brenda Powell Stone and husband Tony of Winnsboro, Glenda Weems of Winnsboro, Kristy Biedenharn of Gilmer; brothers, James Clay of Duncanville, Henry Clay of Lake O'the Pines; ten grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
