Josephine May Cary Johnson, 77, died at her home August 21, 1994.

Born February 1, 1917 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Charles H. Cary, Sr. and Sylvia Harvey. She was raised in Bingham Canyon, Utah. Married Reed Russell Johnson June 11, 1937 in Midvale, Utah.

Josephine lived in Midvale for 38 years. She was past president of the Midvale Ladies Guild; past president FOE Auxilliary #659. She held a state office in the FOE Auxilliary for one year. She retired from Sears and moved to San Carlos, Mexico in 1978.

Survivors: husband, Reed; children, J. R. and wife Kae; George Richard and wife Betty; Claudia Peck and husband Darrell; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brothers, Charles and Douglas Cary; sister, June Monroe.

Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 24, 1994 at 7 p.m. in the Midvale City Cemetery, 7500 South 450 West. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State, Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children.
