Daughter of the late Wakter Vance and Ruth Mayhew Caldwell, she was the widow of Kenneth "Red" Christie. Additionally, she was preceded in death by sons, Kenneth Christie, Jr., and Terry Christie; son-in-law, James Gleaton; and sister, Frances Kyles. She was survived by daughter, Patty Gleaton; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and an extended family of relatives and friends. Her graveside funeral was held on June 30, 2014, with The Rev. J.C. West officiating.∼Joyce Caldwell Christy, 82, of Mooresville, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Genesis Eldercare, Mooresville. Born June 23, 1932, in Mooresville, NC, she was a daughter of the late Vance and Ruth Mayhew Caldwell. Mrs. Christy was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth (Red) Christy; sons, Kenny and Terry Christy; son-in-law, James Gleaton; and sister, Frances Kyles. Mrs. Christy is survived by her daughter, Patty Gleaton, of Mooresville; grandchildren, Marc, Heather, Brian and Michael Christy; and three great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 3 PM, Monday, June 30, 2014, at Glenwood Memorial Park, Mooresville, with Rev. J. C. West officiating.
