Andrew attended Walter O. Parmer School, was graduated from Montgomery Bell Academy, Class of 1952, attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and was graduated with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Vanderbilt University.
His first professional association was with Aladdin Electronics before entering the automobile dealership business in association with Madison Smith, eventually becoming a partner in Smith's Nashville firm of Madison Smith Naturally. In the mid-1970s, MSN spun off an independent dealership, The Car Store, and in 1977 Andrew became its co-owner and president. In the early 1980s, Andrew shifted to investment management, joined PaineWebber, where he would become a top seller, and later moved to Wiley Brothers-Aintree Capital as a vice president.
Andrew was an avid tennis and bridge player. He was active in the MBA Alumni Association and was a member of the Belle Meade Country Club and the Monteagle Sunday School Assembly, where he served several terms on the board of directors, including a term as board president.
Andrew died from metastatic melanoma.
