Willie A. (Bill) Fowler of Sheridan, Arkansas was born on December 15, 1927 in Wheatley, Arkansas. He gained his angel wings on June 11, 2014 at the age of 86 with his family at his side.
Bill was preceded in death by mother and father, Katie James Head and Fred Head; brothers, Connie Fowler, Johnny Head; sisters, Irene Anderson, Connie Hunt, Evelyn Harrell and 2 sons, Randall and Steven Fowler.
Bill is survived by his children, Vicki (Richard) Olsen, Auburn, WA; Marc (Sharon) Fowler, Grissom, OR; Frances (H. David ) Nelson, Sheridan; Katie (Kirk) Crenshaw, Poyen; Fred Fowler, Sheridan; brothers, Cecil Fowler, Owensboro, KY; Bobby Head, Harrison; sisters, Bonnie Poole, Beebe; Betty Sherrill, Florence, AL, a bushel of grand and great grandchildren, his faithful four legged companion Heidi and his caregiver of 4 years, Ms. Doris Hawkins.
As a youth Bill and his brothers pulled many pranks that are still talked about today in Woodruff County. At a young age, Bill farmed until he enlisted in the Army. While serving his country, Bill fought in many infamous battles during the Korean War. After his service, Bill returned to his family and received his first law enforcement assignment. Once his assignments were complete he held numerous positions within the transportation industry until his retirement. In his latter years, Bill enjoyed selling barrels and tomatoes and peddling around Sheridan sharing stories and smiles. Bill was the unofficial mayor and undertaker of the Crossroads Community. Many hours were spent by Bill in his latter years driving around searching for old bicycles to rebuild.
