David Babb passed away peacefully June 27, 2014, at Odyssey Hospice, Charlton Methodist hospital. David was born in Lamar County on March 23, 1934, to parents, H.O. & Johnnie Kate (Rose) Babb. He graduated from Paris High School and later joined the Texas Highway patrol in 1956. He was stationed at Hillsboro, Texas where he met his wife, Carolyn. He later became a master electrician in Dallas County, working in the Duncanville/Cedar Hill areas. Prior to retirement he worked at the Duncanville Independent School District as Maintenance Manager of the Food Services Division.
David was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John F. Babb & Wendell Babb. He is survived by his wife of almost 56 years, Carolyn Rice Babb; their daughter & son-in-law, Debra & Steve Wolf; two grandsons, Bradley Wolf and Greg Wolf & wife, Catherine; 3 brothers, H.O. Babb, Jr. of Ft. Worth, Danny Babb of Tomball and James Babb of Paris, TX; 3 sisters, Mary Goodman & Donita Poteet of Texarkana and Rose Holcomb of Pittsburg, TX; 2 sisters-in-law, Ruth Babb & Wanda Babb of Paris, TX and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service is 10 AM, Tuesday July 1, 2014 at First United Methodist Church, 403 S. Main Street, Duncanville, TX 75116. Burial follows at Little Bethel Cemetery in Duncanville. Visitation is Monday from 6-8 PM at Jaynes Memorial Chapel in Duncanville.
