Dr. S J S Rogers was a member of the Society of California Pioneers. He arrived in California by way of the Isthmus in April 1850.
He married Augusta H Belcher, sister of Judge Isaac Belcher, in Yuba County,5-22-1865
The 1870 Marysville, Yuba County census shows that they had two children at that time, John age 4 and Mary age 2.
The Daily Democrat, November 7, 1904 obituary did mention that Dr S J S Rogers was living with his son Dr John B Rogers when he died in North Bloomfield, and that he had two daughters, Mary and Elizabeth Rogers living in Bennington New Hampshire.
