MARTHA PIERCE OBITUARY
PIERCE (ABERNETHY,WARD), MARTHA LOU- Of Jackson, passed away under the loving care of her family and the staff at the Hospice Home of Jackson, Wednesday, March 5, 2008, age 79 years. Survived by three daughters, Barbara (Rick Canine) Abernethy, Carol (Bob) Eadie, Jane (James Terry Jr.) Winright; eight grandchildren, Mark and Mike Chaffin, Bobby Eadie, Sarah Keel, Kevin Winright Jr. , Brian, Courtney and Mindy Flintoft; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Balkenbusch and Judy Guilfoil; two brothers, Charles "Tom" Ward and Michael Ward; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Max D. Pierce and daughter, Linda Flintoft. Martha was a member of the Polish Falcons, past president of the Goodyear Women's Club, member of the V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary and the First Presbyterian Church. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly. According to her wishes, Mrs. Pierce has been cremated. A memorial service will be held Monday, 1:00 p.m. at the Desnoyer Funeral Home. Pastor Galen Grulke officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Hospice Home of Jackson, 2150 Kingsbrooke Dr., Jackson, MI 49202 or the Heart of the Shepherd Lutheran Church in Howell would be appreciated.
