Mr. Michael Bernard Platt, age 30, of 340 Kennington Drive, died Saturday, August 18, 2001.

A native of Athens, Georgia, Michael was the third son born to Frank, Jr. and Elizabeth Platt on March 28, 1971 in Athens, Georgia. Michael attended Clarke County schools, graduated from Clarke Central High School in 1989 and attended Albany State University.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at Eastlawn Cemetery with Pastors Wilson Lattimore, Jr. and Charlie M. Maddox officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at Jackson-McWhorter Funeral Home on Monday, August 20, 2001.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include one son, Michael Anthony Platt, (mother, Margo Williams) Atlanta, Georgia; two brothers, Carl Vincent Platt and Roderick Douglass Platt (Tikica) of Athens, Georgia; and a sister, Ivee Elizabeth Terry (Leon) of Stockbridge, Georgia. He also leaves two nieces and one nephew, Morgan Briana Platt, Taylor Danielle Platt and Karl Jordan Platt (Wendy Harriford Platt, mother) of Columbia, S.C.; a niece, MacKenzie Elizabeth-Ann Terry of Stockbridge, Georgia; a nephew Roderick Douglas Platt II, Athens, Georgia.

Michael leaves his very special and loving grandmother, Mrs. Helen Elder Daniel of Atlanta, Georgia; his grandfather, Mr. Frank Platt, Sr. of Pittsburgh, Penn.; and many uncles, aunts, cousins and a host of very close and dear friends.

Jackson-McWhorter Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
