The Janesville Daily Gazette", Janesville, Wisconsin, Tuesday, July 28, 1891, p 1.
North Johnstown, July 28 -
Tuesday evening, at the home of her son-in-law, Henry Gray. The Summons came, calling "Grandma" Osborne home, and, as quietly and peacefully as a child, she sank to sleep on earth only to open her eyes in a fairer and brighter clime than this. She lived to the ripe old age of ninety-three years the 19th of last March, and has been called to share in the privations of the pioneers of our state, coming here forty-nine years ago. The last forty years she has been a resident of this community, and many years a member of the Free Baptist church of this place. Her husband preceded her to the better land some years since. Since then she has made her home with her children, who have tenderly cared for her in her declining years. For the last few months, since she fell and hurt her hip, she has been a great sufferer, and death to her was only a welcome messenger to call her home. She leaves seven children, and many friends to mourn her death. At her request, Rev. R. W. Bryant conducted the funeral services, which were held at the church last Friday. He was assisted by the pastor, Rev. J. E. Abrahamson. The floral offerings were beautiful. Four of the grandsons bore the remains to their last resting place to await the resurrection morn.
