Gary M. Stokes passed away peacefully at home on May 20, 2014 with his family at his bedside. He was born September 1, 1944 in Ogden, UT., the only adopted child of Frances Wilson Stokes and Joseph William Stokes.

He had two very close friends that he considered brothers; Wayne Leatherow and Terrence Johnson. They had many interesting adventures and some great stories to tell.

Gary was educated in the Weber County Schools, graduating from Weber High School and Weber State College with a Master's Degree in social work from the University of Utah. He was employed for 33 years by the state of Utah Department of Family Services.

He married Deanna Ellsworth Stokes on April 23, 1971. They combined their families, Jana Dee (Douglas) Willis of Star, ID., Alan Douglas (Beverly) Clark of Ogden, UT., Cara Jean (Rob) Fedder of Kersey, PA., the late Gary Joe Stokes and Sherry Stokes of Ogden, UT. and Jennifer Frances Stokes of Star, ID.
He has numerous beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held May 23, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the North Ogden Cemetery in North Ogden, UT.
