Dale Howard McClellan, 79, of South Bend, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at home.
Dale was born September 15, 1934 in Marinette, Wisconsin, a son of the late Orva and Genevieve (Keim) McClellan. He graduated from Amberg High School in Amberg, Wisconsin. Dale served his country in the US Army. Following his time in the service he settled in the South Bend area.
Dale was employed at Utilimaster Corporation, delivering vehicles throughout the country. He was an avid reader and enjoyed going to auctions. Dale was a car racing fan, especially NASCAR. He also loved riding motorcycles, water sports and four wheeling.
Dale's surviving family includes his loving companion for 35 years, Dixie Rose, and her family including daughter, Amy, and granddaughter, Kaley; four brothers, Wayne, Ralph, Roy and Roger McClellan; and two sisters, Murial Brassfield and Beverly DeGrand.
Dale was preceded in death by a brother, Earl McClellan; and Dixie's daughter, Deborah Ashcroft.
There will be no formal services. Dale's family will hold a celebration of life party at a later date.
Arrangements are under the care of Goethals & Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Mishawaka.
