Michael Anthony Hodge, 43, of 1114 Thomas Lane, Blacksburg, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at his residence.

He was born December 11, 1970, in Staunton, a son of the late Brenda Kay Hodge.

Mike was employed as An Account Manager of WNRV Bluegrass Radio in Narrows, Virginia.

He was active in politics and was at one time a writer and publisher of Valley American News Letter. He enjoyed all sports, reading, and writing.

In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Dorothy Hodge.

Family members include his grandfather, Clarence Hodge of Staunton; an uncle, Clarence Hodge, Jr. and wife, Judy, of Staunton; his girlfriend, Lois Shark; a special dog, Nickie; and special friends, Judy, Davie, and Kim Collins, all from Blacksburg.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2014, in Augusta Memorial Park by Pastor Glen Shelton and Pastor Milton Marks.

The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2014, in the Henry Funeral Home.
