Orlando Hoskins, died suddenly at his home near Atlas, Wednesday, February 2, 1944 at 5:30 p.m. Mr. Hoskins was doing the farm chores and entered the house, when he was stricken by a heart attack and passed away a short time later. Mr. Hoskins was born at New Hartford, Ill., November 11, 1871 and was 72 years, 2 months, and 22 days of age. He had followed the occupation of farming his whole life and had lived in his present home the past 51 years. A few days ago he purchased the C. Burbridge home in Pleasant Hill and had planned to retire from the farm and move to Pleasant Hill in a few days. His wife died a few months ago. Funeral services were held in the community church at Atlas, Friday afternoon, February 4, with Rev. C. L. Belknap in charge. Burial was in Miller cemetery at Atlas.
