20 October 1959 the Buffalo News, Templeton, Mass- Westover Air Force Base has announced that Capt. James T. Akeley, 38, of Coudersport, PA was one of the airmen who died in the crash of their supersonic jet plane at Templeton yesterday.
Akeley, a training commander, leaves his widow, Gloria, and three children.
The plane, attached to the 337th fighter interceptor squadron of Westover, was on a training flight when it crashed in a swampland near an old cemetery.
